do you know someone who meets these criteria?

  • Religiously Motivated: Peacemakers must be engaging in peacemaking activities fueled by teachings from their religious traditions.

  • Working in an area of armed conflictPeacemakers are dedicated to bringing peace to situations involving violent conflict and to sustaining peace in war torn-areas.

  • At riskPeacemakers put their own lives and freedom on the line and sacrifice their own safety to alleviate the suffering of others.

  • Relatively unknown for their workPeacemakers are the dedicated workings going without the recognition or support they deserve in spite of their significant impacts.

Women's Peace Initiative nominees must meet all of the above criteria and be concentrating their efforts in the Middle East - North Africa region (MENA).

Awardees join our international network of Peaceamakers, have a case study analyzing their methods written and receive training and a monetary award to support their critical work.
