 management briefings

Tanenbaum’s management briefing is a two– to three-hour presentation designed to provide an overview of religious bias and accommodation in the workplace. The briefing examines important trends affecting religious diversity and outlines the business case for addressing this issue as it relates to employee retention, productivity, global markets and service provision.  A review of pertinent legislation, case law and best practices rounds out the session.

All Tanenbaum sessions are customized to meet your organization’s particular needs.  We’ll work with your diversity team to create a briefing that is relevant to your workplace culture and sector.

interactive training

Interactive training sessions is range from one hour to a full day and give participants the chance to delve more deeply into the issues and practice applying the skills and knowledge they acquire.  Using case studies, quizzes, role-plays and more, attendees learn basic strategies for addressing religious diversity issues that arise in the workplace.  Through true-to-life scenarios, participants develop a practical understanding of how the beliefs of the world’s major religions impact the workplace.  Sessions can be customized for both management and employees.  Targeted sessions for healthcare organizations speak to the religious dimension of cultural competency.

Interactive training sessions are developed in close communication with you, to ensure that the training topics and methods used are the most effective for your situation.

panel discussions

Panel sessions provide an opportunity for employees to explore the religious diversity of their workplace and begin a conversation that leads to both improved colleague relationships and buy-in for more in-depth training. Tanenbaum staff can facilitate a panel made up of religiously diverse employees, guiding them through a structured discussion of their beliefs and experiences.

We work with you to screen and prepare potential panelists, create an agenda for the discussion and facilitate the panel.  Panels can be stand-alone sessions, or part of larger diversity initiative.

policy reviews

An inclusive workplace culture starts with a supportive framework.  Policy reviews ensure that your organization has policies in place that meet legal requirements and support accommodation of religious needs without placing an undue burden on the organization.

Tanenbaum’s program and legal team can analyze your current policies and make suggestions for improvements, or work with you to draft a policy from scratch.

needs assessments

The first step to tackling difficult religious diversity issues is taking stock of what’s going on right now.  Tanenbaum can help you with that process by conducting a comprehensive needs assessment.  Through interviews with staff, focus groups and a review of your policies and training materials, we can help you pinpoint what you’re doing right—and what you’re not.

We’ll work with you to create and implement an assessment plan, organize and analyze the findings, and create an action plan that keeps you at the head of the curve.
